Onion Skin

The onion powder market is valued at $12.11 billion, and many onion powders integrate skins, as they taste and smell the same as the rest of the onion. Plus, red onion powder has a beautiful, natural pink hue.

Apple Pomace

Apple powder is widely used as a nutritional supplement, a thickener for sauces and soups, a fat replacement in sausages and hamburgers, and in cosmetics and skincare.

Coffee Cherry

Did you know that only 20% of the coffee fruit is used for coffee and the remaining 80% is byproduct? Yet coffee cherry powder is very healthy, containing caffeine, vitamin B2, magnesium, and antioxidants.

Mushroom

Over 20 million pounds of shiitake mushrooms are grown annually in the US, and some types of mushroom powders are sold for up to $250/pound!

Tomato

Up to 72 million tons of processed tomatoes are byproduct (skins and seeds), which contain high levels of dietary fiber (39-59%) and protein (15-24%). The tomato powder market is valued at $1.5 billion.

Oat Hull

Oat flour is made from oat husks, which have been hulled from whole oats and retails for $4-10 per pound. Oat flour is rich in soluble and insoluble fiber which can help in digestive health, regulate blood sugar levels, and lower cholesterol levels.

Lemon Peel

If all the lemon peels produced globally were powderized instead of used as animal feed, over 11 million metric tons of GHG emissions would be prevented. Lemon peels naturally contain citric acid, a bioactive compound that has antibacterial properties.
